Bowra Gold v Nambucca

It was a gloomy morning at Nambucca on Saturday which seemed to subdue the team somewhat.

Jake Blanch played Dummy Half with Jarmaul Tyerman as first receiver for the first half. Jake distributed well and defended well all game. Mauly is always elusive and ran well all day with some great legs tackles.

Nick Kenny wore the DH vest and Fin Walsh the FR for the second half, both playing good games, Fin pulling off some great try saving tackles and a great dummy half run from Nick.

Chris Lill and Yharli Fitzgerald made comebacks this week with good solid running and safe defence. Elijah Laird played well, getting into dummy half when needed, running and defending well. Danny Barber had a much improved game this week, running well all game, keep it up.

Daykeil Duckett played his first game on Saturday with a big run.

Brodie Moore played his usual huge game scoring all our tries. Great work Brodie. Jack Desmond ran well all game making ground every time he touched the ball.

Another close game saw us losing  24 - 20, four tries each.

Tries Brodie 4. Goals Yharli and Birthday Boy Fin.

Nambucca Hotel MVP Jack Desmond.

Under 10's Gold 9th May

Vs. Smithtown

A beautiful spring morning awaited us at Smithtown on Saturday for our first comp game of the year. We struggled a bit with numbers for our first game so Josh Willer, Brayden Luffman, Jack Cleversby and Liam Cuffe stepped up from the Under 9's to help us out. All four players did a superb job with great defence and attack, looking like they were regular Under 10's. They are more than welcome to help us out all year.

Tyreese Chapman played his first game for Bowra and had a blinder. Sensational in attack and copy book defence.

Fin Walsh played a great game wearing the First Receiver vest for the first half. His reading of the game and good choices led to several tries.

Jack Desmond played well with some inspiring runs. Jack was dangerous every time he touched the ball.

Elijah Laird played a good game, carrying on from where he left off last year as player of the match for Kempsey, helping Kempsey out against Bowra.

Danny Barber played well, after being absent for a couple of years, with a great run in the second half. It looks like he'll get back into the swing of it in no time.

Mauly Tyerman showed his style with his usual flair, ducking and weaving and creating nightmares for the opposition defence.

Nick Kenny played a constructive game wearing the Dummy Half vest for the first half with an inspiring scoot that looked sensational until the biggest bloke on the opposition stopped him.

Brodie Moore played his usual huge game proving unstoppable in attack and devastating in defence.

After a titanic tussle we narrowly lost 28 - 26 missing a close goal attempt after the bell.

Tries Fin 3, Brodie & Liam. Goals Tyreese, Fin & Mauly.

Nambucca Hotel MVP Brodie Moore. Enjoy your Schnitty Brodie.
